PtBio Inc.(Headquarters: Higashihiroshima, Hiroshima Prefecture; CEO: Keisuke Okuhara; hereinafter referred to as "PtBio") has released PtWAVE, a new software solution that enables highly sensitive and precise measurement of genome editing activity. Additionally, the tool’s performance has been validated through collaborative research with Hiroshima University, and the results have been published in the international academic journal BMC Bioinformatics.

PtWAVE enables the detection of large-scale indels (deletions and insertions) up to 200 base pairs in size—beyond the detection capabilities of conventional TIDE analysis used for activity measurement. Comparative evaluation conducted in collaboration with Hiroshima University demonstrated superior detection sensitivity and accuracy over existing tools.

PtWAVE is provided free of charge for both commercial and non-commercial use as a web-based analysis tool. Users can configure analysis parameters in a web browser and immediately visualize genome editing activity results. With its ability to facilitate rapid and cost-effective genome editing activity assessment, PtWAVE can be seamlessly integrated into genome editing analyses and quality control workflows within the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. Furthermore, due to its broad detection range, PtWAVE is expected to find applications in diverse areas such as off-target evaluation and the development of genetically modified crops.

PtBio remains committed to its mission: "Designing biological functions to solve societal challenges," and will continue to shape the future through biotechnology.
