PtBio participated as a sponsor in the 7th ASCA (Asian Short Course on Agribiotechnology, Biosafety Regulation, and Communication) held in Bangkok, Thailand. Regulation, and Communication) in Bangkok, Thailand as a sponsor.
The course is organized by the International Service for the Acquisition of Agri-biotech Applications (ISAAA), an international non-profit organization that promotes and provides information on agricultural technologies related to biotechnology. The ISAAA is a comprehensive program on agricultural biotechnology (e.g., genetic modification and genome editing technologies), its regulation, risk management, and effective communication in the Asian region. Platinum Bio's Director for Asia, Mr. Araki, took the stage to introduce Platinum Bio and to present the situation of genome editing in Japan. In addition to the host country, Thailand, participants from the Philippines, India, Malaysia, Pakistan, Taiwan, and Japan, as well as from other Asian countries such as the U.S., Australia, Brazil, and Canada, came from national research institutes, universities, and private companies to deepen exchanges with stakeholders in genome editing technology in their countries. The participants also had the opportunity to interact with stakeholders from various countries involved in genome editing technology.
