The article “Egg for All: A Future Where Everyone Can Enjoy Eggs, Made Possible by Allergy-free Egg Products,” written by Hiromasa Ono, Director of the Business Development Department at PtBio Inc., and Ryo Ezaki, Principal Researcher in the Cell and Medical Team of the Research and Development Department, has been published in Volume 104, Issue 1 (2026) of the “Journal of the Society for Biotechnology, Japan,” published by the Society for Biotechnology, Japan, a public interest incorporated association.
This article introduces the “Allergy-free Egg Products” currently under development by our company, highlighting the results of research and development utilizing our proprietary genome-editing technology, “Platinum TALEN,” as well as verification of safety and processability, and initiatives toward societal implementation.
It also touches on our collaboration with food manufacturers and our outreach efforts through an exhibition at the 2025 Osaka-Kansai World Expo, conveying the “Egg for All” vision—a future where everyone, regardless of whether they have an egg allergy, can gather around the same table.
We will continue to leverage Bio-DX and genome editing technologies to address social challenges in areas such as food, health, and the environment.
