Hidemasa Bono Appointed as Chief Scientific Officer (CSO): 2026-01-05

PtBio Inc. is pleased to announce that Professor Hidemasa Bono of the Graduate School of Integrated Sciences for Life, Hiroshima University, has been appointed Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) effective January 1, 2026.

As CSO, Professor Bono will lead the research and development of our BioDX initiatives, driving scientific strategy and innovation across the company.

Professor Bono teaches bioinformatics in the Advanced Human Resource Development Program for Genome Editing (Doctoral Program for World-leading Innovative & Smart Education), while conducting research on the development of data analysis platforms for genome editing and gene function analysis through bioinformatics.

His work has focused on data-driven approaches, particularly the effective utilization of public databases for large-scale data analysis. Through BioDX, he is advancing research aimed at digital breeding via metabolic pathway design, integrating computational insights with next-generation life science technologies.
