PtBio Inc. will participate as a presenter at two symposia held during the 77th Annual Meeting of the Society for Biotechnology, Japan, taking place from September 10 to 12, 2025.

■the Food Bio Plus Symposium– “New Possibilities in Food through Traditional Fermentation and Innovative Food Technologies”
This symposium aims to address pressing social issues such as environmental challenges, food production, and food security by exploring both traditional fermentation technologies and cutting-edge food technologies, identifying their current status and challenges. Topics will include fermentation, the utilization of gut microbiota, the development of alternative meats using koji molds, cellular food development, Raman analysis, genome editing, and more. Together, these discussions will present a vision for the future of food, offering diverse options and sustainable pathways for both industry and consumers.
From our Business Development Division, Hiromasa Ono will give a presentation entitled:
“Egg for All: Creating a Future Where Everyone Can Enjoy Eggs through Allergy-free Egg Products.”
■“Biotechnology Creating the Future: Toward Social Acceptance, Social Implementation, and Co-Creation with Society”
This symposium will bring together leading researchers in fields such as algal biotechnology, genome editing, and synthetic biology, as well as experts from academia and industry engaged in science governance and outreach activities. Participants will discuss the future directions of biotechnology and its role in society.
At this symposium, our President and CEO, Keisuke Okuhara, will give a presentation on the theme: “Social Implementation of Genome Editing and Bio-DX.”
