2023-04-27: Hiroshima University and Kewpie confirmed safety of allergy-reduced eggs.

A joint research project between Hiroshima University and Kewpie Corporation has confirmed the safety of chicken eggs (allergy-reduced eggs) that do not contain ovomucoid, a major allergen, which was successfully created by genome editing using our technology "Platinum TALEN".


This joint research is being conducted as part of a full-scale, 10-year project under the JST Support Program for Formation of Co-Creation Opportunities (COI-NEXT), which started in April 2022. The study’s findings will be published in the May 2023 issue of the journal Food and Chemical Toxicology.
