Genome Editing Cloud (GEC)

In genome analysis, there are several challenges such as the risk of genome information leakage when uploading genome information of a customer's own species to a public database, lack of convenience in data management and processing due to the need for a hard disk (HD) and an in-house analysis server, and high hurdles in analysis due to the need to learn programming languages. PtBio's system is designed to be secure and easy to use.

PtBio has developed the Genome Editing Cloud (GEC), a platform that streamlines the genome analysis process by enabling easy management and analysis of vast amounts of genome information in a secure cloud environment, and is working to build the infrastructure of the genome industry with its business partners.

What's BioDX?

BioDX (Bio Digital Transformation) is an initiative that aims to efficiently design useful biological resources for various industries by utilizing bioinformatics and genome editing based on vast amounts of genetic sequence information.

Until now, much research has been conducted on model organisms such as humans and mice. On the other hand, there are many non-model organisms such as animals, plants, microorganisms, and insects whose genome information has not been clarified, and their effective utilization is attracting attention in various industries.

Platinum Bio aims to realize manufacturing that can solve social issues in various industries by accelerating the breeding of non-model organisms in the food, agriculture, and biomanufacturing industries through the Bio-DX initiative.

In order to obtain sequence information, it is essential to have a sample extraction method appropriate for the target organism, advanced experience in analyzing sequence data, and consideration of experimental conditions appropriate for the purpose.

However, in the current situation, research is sometimes carried out using old technology or with inadequate data quality, and the possibility or opportunity to obtain better and more accurate genome sequence information is sometimes missed. As a result, genes related to the desired functions have not been sufficiently identified, and breeding and effective utilization of biological resources have not progressed.

At PtBio, we utilize our extensive experience in sampling and bioinformatics to carefully obtain genome sequence data useful for research results. This enables us to discover new genes that cannot be found by conventional methods and to identify genome sequences with high precision, which is fundamental in breeding.
